| Step-by-step instructions for Tamil Font installation | |||||
| For MAC Users: | |||||
| (a) Download the TAB-LFS-Kamban.suit.sit , TABX-Ponni.sit and TAMLKamban.sit files | |||||
| (b) Expand the above .sit files using Stuffit Expander. | |||||
| (c) Drag TAB-LFS-Kamban.suit and TAMLKamban files from desktop and Drop it to System Folder/Fonts folder. | |||||
| (d) reply YES when it asks if it is to be placed in the Fonts Folder. | |||||
| (e) Quit the Browser and launch it again | |||||
| (f) For Netscape 4.7x, | |||||
| -> select Preferences... form the Edit Menu | |||||
| -> select Fonts under Appearence Option | |||||
| -> choose User-Defined for the Encoding | |||||
| -> choose TAB-LFS-Kamban for Variable Width Font. | |||||
| -> Select Mail & Newsgroups | |||||
| -> Select Display plain text messages and articles with Variable Width Font | |||||
| -> Select Messages under Mail & Newsgroups | |||||
| -> Select Send messages that use 8-bit Characters Using the "quoted printable" MIME encoding | |||||
| (g) For Netscape 6.1, | |||||
| -> select Preferences... form the Edit Menu | |||||
| -> select Fonts under Appearence Option | |||||
| -> select Fonts for User-Defined | |||||
| -> select Proportional Sans-serif | |||||
| -> select Serif TAB-LFS-Kamban | |||||
| -> select Sans-Serif TAB-LFS-Kamban | |||||
| -> Select Message Display under Mail and Newsgroups | |||||
| -> Select Use this font while displaying plain text messages Variable width font | |||||
| -> Select Message Compos.. under Mail and Newsgroups | |||||
| -> for compose Messages select For messages that contain 8-bit character use "quoted printable" MIME encoding | |||||
| Note : In the same way, set TABX-Ponni to view lexicon and TAMLKamban to view English-Tamil dictionaries of Madras university or Palaniappa Bros. | |||||
