Bharathi conceives of a revolutionary woman in his poem ‘புதுமைப்பெண்’.
This revolutionarywoman forces herself out of all restriction of the male-dominant society. She isagainst the atrocities committed on women, but not against men as such. Shewould like to be on par with men in every field of life and would like tocontribute to the progress of mankind as much as men do. The character‘Panchali’ as depicted by Bharathi in his ‘Panchali Sapatham’ is anillustration of how his revolutionary woman would be like. She wouldn’t keepquiet in the face of atrocities; she would fight it out tooth and nail.
