This section portrays the slow and tardy response of the household to a critical situation. It shows how the family by their sheer inaction and sluggish intelligence, let a thief go scot free. The head of the family gets enraged and in a foolish and rash show of anger causes unwittingly the death of the members of the family. Tragic as the end is, the poet tries to exploit the situation to drive home his message on the need for education for everyone in a household.
