This lesson introduces you to some of the long narrative compositions of Bharathidasan known as காப்பியங்கள். சஞ்சீவி பர்வதத்தின் சாரல், புரட்சிக்கவி, வீரத்தாய், and கடல் மேல் குமிழிகள் are the poems dealt with in this lesson. We give the stories in a nut-shell and present in brief the message that Bharathidasan wants to convey through these compositions. The poet’s conviction in democracy, his faith in rationalism and human equality and his expert handling of similes are brought out in the course of the lesson.
