A
play can be written to be read; or it may be written to be staged.
At times it may serve both the purposes. Bharathidasan’s plays have
been written for both viewing and reading. Some of his plays written
in verse have already been dealt with in the lesson on பாரதிதாசனின் காப்பியங்கள்.
Twenty six of his plays are in prose, out of which six are introduced
to you in this lesson.
