| Religions played a dominant role in the Tamils’ lives only after 2nd Century B.C. There were struggles for religious supremacy. But elders in the society prevailed upon the people for religious tolerance and good will, advised humanism and concern for lives. Sharing one’s food for the sustenance of fellow lives is the best virtue among all that has been written and compiled, as Tiruvalluvar says. |
