The concluding section reinforces the idea that the ancient Tamils had , even 3000 years ago, indigenously evolved highly sophisticated theories of music and its grammar and had documented them in texts. Though many texts are now lost, those such as the தொல்காப்பியம், எட்டுத்தொகை, பத்துப்பாட்டு and the சிலப்பதிகாரம் which have survived provide valuable information about ancient Tamil பண் music. The பண் music spread all over India during the Bhakthi Movement. The பண் of தேவாரம் and திவ்வியப்பிரபந்தம் were the most popular and came to be later known as கருநாடக இசை.
