There
are two main units in this lesson. The first unit presents the epic characteristics
of Kamba raamaayanam and its literary greatness.
The second unit presents the character of
Gugan. His appearance and behaviour, his meeting of Rama, his obeisance
and gentleness and his desire, request and devotion are illustrated from
Kambaraamaayanam. Gugapadalam is a noteworthy part of this epic highlighting
the sincerity, devotion and relationship between the hero and other characters
like Gugan. Rama considers Gugan as another brother totalling the siblings
to be five.
On
learning this lesson you will gain a variety of exposure into the cultural
aspects of Tamil life. How to call on elders like the king, how even the
leader of hunters should behave before the Chakkaravarthi Thirumagan and
Ramas qualities of friendship will enable you to appreciate Tamil
Culture as presented in great literary works. Ramas leadership and
Guhans spontaneity hold aloft the greatness of love in govening
the whole world. Kambans literary excellence in showing how love
extends the limits of even brotherhood is the core idea of Gugapadalam.
