Manuvijnanesvariyam. Suddhananda Bharatam.

Of the seven manuscripts from this library, ''Palamoli-t-Tirattu'' hasbeen dropped as it was found to contain many archaic proverbs. The entire publication has been recommended for aid from the Government of India under the scheme for the Development of Modern Indian Languages. It is also hoped that the Government of India aid will be forthcoming in due course. Since the amount has to be reimbursed from the Government of  India, it was ordered that the expenditure on the scheme should be incurred before 31st March 1960. Though the time actually available for getting the manuscripts printed is less than two months, the publication has been started in right earnest and every possible efforts were made to complete the same before the stipulated time. There has, however, been one change in the scheme of publication as submitted by the Curator on account of the limited time available. Originally the above manuscripts were intended to be edited by outside scholars under the Madras Government Oriental Series but now they have been edited by the Curator himself with the assistance of Tamil staff of the Library, under the Madras Government Oriental Manuscripts Series.

The late S. Bhavanandam Pillai of the Police Department, Madras, has a rich collection of printed books and a few manuscripts in TAMIL. They were deposited in the BHAVANANDAM ACADEMY that was started in his name. The High Court of Judicature to Madras, was kind enough to order the transfer of 94 paper manuscripts and 73 palm-leaf manuscripts from that Academy to the Government Oriental Manuscripts Library, Madras. In pursuance of that order, the Official Trustee of Madras, transferred them to this Library on 9th September 1953. Again, he transferred the following two manuscripts to this Library on 19th December 1957.
