The South Indian Music, usually called Karnatic Music, is
nothing but the old Tamil music with Sanskrit terminology.The
beautiful and significant Tamil names of melody-types have been
replaced by arbitrary Sanskrit names. Even now, some basic
technical terms are translations of Tamil.
