பொறுக்கவை-த்தல் = (செ.குன்றா வி.) 1. சாரவைத்தல் to plan, lean against. 2. மிகுசுமையேற்றுதல்,to overload 3. பொறுப்பேற்றுதல், to impose a duty or expense upon 4. பொறுத்துக்கொள்ளச் செய்தல், to run aground, as a vessel.

     2. பொறுப்பிக்கிறேன், பொறுப்பித்தேன், பொறுப்பிப்பேன்

     பொறுப்பி-த்தல் = (செ.குன்றா வி.) 1. சுமத்துதல், to cause to rest on. 2. முட்டுக்கொடுத்தல், to prop; to sustain (W.) 3. பொறுக்குமாறு செய்தல். "திருவடியைப் பொறுப்பிக்குமவள் தன்சொல்வழி வருமவனைப் பொறுப்பிக்கச் சொல்ல வேண்டாவிறே" (அஷ்டாதச முமுட்சுப்) to cause to bear 4. பொறுப்புக் கட்டுதல், to put resposibility on.

     புல் - பொல், பொரு - பொறு

     புல்லுதல் = பொருந்துதல். பொல்லுதல் = பொருந்துதல். பொருதல் = பொருந்துதல். பொறுத்தல் = பொருந்துதல், பொருந்தித் தாங்குதல், சுமத்தல்.

முட்டுதல் = பொருந்துதல், பொருந்தித் தாங்குதல். முட்டுக் கொடுத்தல் என்பது தாங்குதல் அல்லது தாங்கவைத்தல் என்று பொருள்படுதல் காண்க.

(6) இனச்சொற்கள் (cognates and allied words)

     திரவிடம்:

     மலையாளம்-பொறு(க்க), கன்னடம்-பொறு. குடகம்-பொரி, கோத்தவம்-பொர், துடவம்-பிர், துளுவம்-புதெ = (சுமை.) load, burden. கோண்டி-புகுத்தானா = கனத்தல் to high heavily.

     OE., OS., OHG ber (an), E. bear, ON ber(a), Goth bair (an) L. fer (re)/ Gk. pher (ein). Skt bhar. LL port (are), to carry port என்பதினின்று திரிந்தவையே porter, portage, portable, portative முதலிய தனிச் சொற்களும், import, export, comfort, deport, purport, rapport, report, support முதலிய முன்னொட்டுப் பெற்ற சொற்களும் fortfire, fortfolio, fortmanteau முதலிய கூட்டுச்சொற்களும்.

     bar அல்லது bhar என்னும் ஆரிய வேர்ச்சொல் பற்றி For instance. the root bar or bhar particularly if we minde the words derived from Latin ferre and adopted English such as, for instance, fertile, far (barley), farina, barley-flower, reference, deference, conference, difference, inference, preference, transference and all the rust, would more than a hundred English words.
