Born on 24-12-1924 and educated at the Higher
Elementary School, Keeranur (Madurai Dt.) and at St. Anthony’s High
School, Coonoor. Mr. Siraj Baquavi wished to study Islamic culture
and theology. He therefore joined the Baquiyath Salihath Arabic
College, at Vellore and then the Jamalia Arabic College, Madras, and
secured the MOULAVI ALIM Degree and subsequently MOULAVI FAZIL
Diploma and QUARI Title.
He has not only made a deep study of the Arabic literature and
Islamic theology but he is also a scholar of high repute in Tamil
and Urdu languages. It is his ardent desire to present the noble
Principles of Islam to the entire humanity through his writings.
Famous among his books published in Tamil are : “The Manna of
Wisdom”, “How to lead a happy life?” and “Subuhana Mowlid” -the last
one being a poetic translation from Arabic poems.
The present work, “NENJIL NIRAINDA NABI MANI,” which is entirely
composed in chaste and lucid Tamil verse, is his magnum opus.
Written in praise of Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic religion, it
constitutes a new venture to touch the minds of the believers and
admirers of Islam and of the last of its prophets.
