Subramania Mudaliar, | I have received your kind card informing me that your great commentary on Peria Puranam has been completed and that the completion of great undertaking will be celebrated at Chidambaram on the 10th and 13th Instants. It is but meet that the completion of your great commentary should be fittingly celebrated and that too in the holy presence of Sri Nataraja and in the very hall where Sekkilar promulgated his iimmortal work. I am glad that arrangements are being made for the celebration of the event. I shall try to come to Chidambaram for the function; but in case for any reason, I am Prevented form coming there. Please treat this letter as my message of gratitude to the Almighty for enabling you to complete the huge task undertaken by you amidst the great inconveniences caused by the war and its after-effects, and to you for having undertaken the task and brought it to a successful conclusion. I have been, as you know, a regular reader of your commentary, and congratulate you on the vast learning, the spirit of reverance and piety and the sincerity of your attempt to light up darkplaces in the original work which have characterised your noble work. May God bless you with long life and every kind of happiness and Prosperity and may generations of Tamil people read your work and benefit by the same. I am confident that you have done to Peria Puranam no less a service than what Perimelalagar did for Thirukkural. or Govindaraja did for Valmiki, or Sankara and the Acharyas did for the Gita. | With regards. | 7, Chitrakulam | North Street, | Mylapore. 6-7-48 | | yours Sincerely, | Diwan Bahadur R.
