| வாழ்க்கையின் அனுபவங்களில், ஏதேனும் ஒன்று பற்றிக்
கற்பனை எழுமானால், உடனே அது வாழ்க்கை முழுதும் பரவி,
அதற்கு இயைந்த எல்லாப் பகுதிகளிலும் நிரம்புகிறது. ஒரு
பகுதியால் பெற்ற விளக்கம் மற்றப் பகுதிக்கும் சென்று தெளிவு
நல்குவதாய், இதையும் அதையும் இயைத்து விடுகிறது;
மறந்துபோன பழைய அனுபவங்களையும் திரும்பக் கொணர்ந்து
தெளிவாக விளங்கச் செய்கிறது.**
கற்பனை என்பது, மனிதன் தேடிப்பெறும் அணிகலன்
போன்றது அன்று; இயற்கையாகக் குழந்தைப் பருவத்திலேயே
அமைந்துள்ள அழகு போன்றது. குழந்தைப் பருவத்தின் அழகு
பிறகு வளர வளரக் குறைவது போல், பெரும்பாலோர்க்குக்
கற்பனையும் குழந்தைப் பருவத்தில் மிகுதியாக இருந்து, பிறகு
அறிவு வளர வளரக்குறைந்து போவது உண்டு. ஆயின், ஒரு சிலர்,
உடல் வளர வளர அழகையும் காத்துக் கொண்டு என்றும் அழகு
நிரம்பியவராய் விளங்குதல் போல், கலைஞர், வளர்ந்த பிறகும்
குழந்தைப் பருவத்துக் கற்பனை நீங்காதவராய் விளங்குகின்றனர்.*
