ஆண்டில் ஒருமுறை சிறப்பாக நடைபெறும் பொங்கி மடையிடுதல் போன்ற வழிபாட்டை அறிவிக்க ஆடைத்துணியைக் கட்டிவிடுதல் இந்தியநாட்டிலும் பிறவிடங்களிலும் உள்ள வழக்கு.

திரை

  அரசன் உறையும் உள் மண்டபத்தின் எதிரே திரை இடப்பட்டிருக்கும்.1 அதனை ஒப்ப ஆலயங்களிலும் உள்மண்டபத்தின் எதிரிலும் திரைச்சீலை இடப்பட்டிருந்தன. ஆலயங்களில் இன்றும் திரைச்சீலையிட்டிருப்பதை நாம் காணலாம். மேற்கு ஆசிய நாடுகளிலும் ஆலயங்களுக்குத் திரைச்சீலையிடப்பட்டிருந்தது.2

ஐயர்

  அரண்மனையில் அரசனைச் சேவிக்கும் பணியாளர் பலர் இருந்தனர். அவர்கள் பலதரங்களாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள். அவருள் ஒருவன் தலைவனாகவிருந்தான். இதனை ஒப்பவே ஆலயங்களிலும் ஐயனைச் 1. சேவிக்கும்
