    This lesson deals with the poems under Marutha Thinai. Describing the main characteristics of this Thinai, this lesson highlights the special qualities of the people living in fertile land of paddy fields.

    Poems about this landscape and the people are in the five works of Agapporul. Two poets, Maruthan Ilanaganaar and Orampokiyar, are good in these poems. 100 poems of Ayinkurunooru, 35 of Kalithokkai and 40 of Aganaanooru belong to Marutha Thinai.

    The place of Marutha Thinai is paddy fields and the adjacent region and the time is rainy,winter and summer seasons spread over the entire year.
