Pavanar wrote more than 35 books and all of them have become the treasure trove of Tamil. His Vadamoli Varalaru vividly traces hundreds of Sanskrit words of their Tamil origin and at the same time he never failed to give pure Tamil equivalents for Sanskrit loan words.
His Primary Classical Language of the World is an eyeopener for the linguists regarding the mother tongue of man. He has done a signal service to all philologists and especially the etymologists. His work is a model for others to emulate. That is why the Cultural Heritage of India (Vol.IV,p.641) edited by the renowned National Professor Sunit Kumar Chatterji, speaks, "....... but for his (Pavanar's) efforts the purity and antiquity of Tamil might have been a muth".
As a prelude during this year of Pavanar's centenary celebration, Thiru. Ilavalagan of Thamil Man Pathippagam has come forward to publish all the works of Pavanar as attracting editions. The whole Tamil population on the earth is indebted to him for such a noble cause and responsibility shouldered by an individual.
I congratulate him whole heartedly and thank him personally for his sincere service for the development of Tamil.
