குகன் தேனும் மீனும் உண்பதற்கு ஏற்ற வண்ணம் பக்குவப்படுத்திக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கின்றான். இப்பொருள்கள் அன்பினால் கொண்டுவரப்பெற்றவை. மரத்தின் உச்சியில் தேனீக்கள் சேமித்து வைத்திருப்பது தேன் ஆகும். இது குகனது அன்பின் உயர்வைக் காட்டுகின்றது. ஆழமிக்க கங்கை ஆற்றின் அடிஆழத்தில் உள்ளது மீன். அந்த இடத்தில் இருந்து மீன்பிடித்துக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கின்றான் குகன். இது குகனது அன்பின் ஆழத்தைக் காட்டுகின்றது. ஆக, அன்பின் ஆழத்தையும், அன்பின் உயரத்தையும் குகன் தான்கொண்டுவந்த பொருள்களின் மூலமாக இராமனுக்கு உணர்த்திவிடுகின்றான்.

குகனிடம் இராமன் காட்டிய அன்பு சிறப்பானது. தவநெறி ஏற்ற தான் மீன் உண்ணமாட்டேன் என்று சொல்லாமல் தூய்மையானது, நான் உண்டதற்குச் சமம் ஆனது என்று ஏற்றுக் கொண்டதும் அவனது அன்பைக் காட்டுகின்றது.நட்பினால் உறவான தன்மையைக் கம்பராமாயணம் அழகாக நன்கு விளக்கிக் காட்டுகின்றது.

Gugan has brought honey and fish properly prepared for eating. He has brought them out of love. Honey is saved by honeybees at great heights of trees. This shows the high and great love Gugan has. Fish is found only at the bottom of the deep river Ganges. Gugan has caught the fish from that deep river. This shows the deep love Gugan has (for Rama). Thus Gugan shows deep and high affection he has through the food he has brought.

The love Rama shows towards Gugan is great. A sage-like Rama does not reject the unacceptable fish-food. His acceptance is equal to eating it. And thus shows his love. The great relationship born of friendship is beautifully illustrated in Kambaramayanam.
