In the following section, we talk about the sources of
information that help us in reconstructing the culture of a land. Literature,
Inscriptions, Archeological Excavations and Notes of Foreign Tourists - these are the main
sources. We try to illustrate how each of these have contributed to the understanding of
Tamil culture.
