P20213 தேவாரம் - திருவாசகம்
This lesson introduces you to the first seven collections of பன்னிரு திருமுறைகள், known as தேவாரம் and the eighth collection known as திருவாசகம். Of the 7 collections of தேவாரம், the first three are contributed by ஞானசம்பந்தர். Collections 4,5 and 6 are contributed by நாவுக்கரசர் and the 7th one is contributed by சுந்தரர். The eighth one திருவாசகம் is written by மாணிக்க வாசகர். The lesson gives details of how the திருமுறைகள have been classified in the different ways according to the பண் ( the Raaga set for the composition) and the தலம் (the place sung about). It gives brief biographical sketches of the author-saints and the salient features of their works.
