Section on ‘பாரத மக்கள்’ represents Bharathi’s rendering of the pathetic and sick mind of an average Indian of his days. The caste-ridden society had thousands of factions among its people. Timidity and superstitious beliefs made the people cowards. Bharathi tried to rouse their feelings and bring them together under one fold through his patriotic, emotionally charged compositions. The pictures of unity portrayed by Bharathi in ‘பாரததேசம்’ are the outcome of a far-reaching flight of imagination and optimism.
