The seeds of reformation are sown in education. The British Educational System which was in vogue in the times of Bharathi was only to perpetuate slavery. So Bharathi was against the British Education and devised a scheme for national education with the Indian languages as the medium of instruction. He wanted education to focus on enabling the individuals to be self-dependent and to develop an objective approach to life.
