This lesson talks about Bharathi's broad vision - that encompassed the whole universe of mankind. The seeds of such a broad vision were laid in him by the oriental philosophy of 'advaita'- a philosophy of absolutism, which finds the same divine light, the same spirit in every human being, every living creature and every object of Nature around. Bharathi's breadth of vision was further fortified by his acquaintance with the western creative thinkers like Whitman, Thoreau, Tolstoy and Carlyle and the English Romantic poets like Byron, Shelley and Keats. Illustrations from Bharathi's works about his universal principles of freedom, equality and fraternity are given in the lesson.
