Religious factions have led to many a war in the history of the world.Bharathidasan cautions his people not to fall into the trap of religious feuds. The faith and the practices advocated by religions, he believed, tend to make men lazy and lose faith in their potential; it even makes men lose sight of the right and the wrong. The poet, therefore, opposed the religions in general. Yet he upheld the reformers of religious movement. He pays tributes to the Buddha, Saint Ramalinga, Shri Ramanuja and Kumarakurubarar through his poems.
