This section talks about Bharathi Dasan's merger with the ' Self-Respect' movement of E.V. Ramaswamy. Bharathi Dasan found an easy acceptance in the strong sentiments of E.V.R. against the social structure based on caste, religion and God. He wrote a poem welcoming E.V.R. at a public meeting at Pondicherry. Later he launched a journal by name ' புதுவை முரசு ' to take the ' self-respect ' ideals to the public. In the meantime, he started writing poems for films, thanks to the efforts of T.K. Shanmugam.
