சூடான சுண்ணாம்பு நீர்க் காளவாயில் அப்பர் உள்ளார். இருந்தாலும் அவர் சிவபெருமான் ஆகிய இறைவனை நினைப்பதால் அது அவர் உடம்பைச் சுடவில்லை. குளிர்ச்சியான குளத்தில் குளிப்பதுபோல அவருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி கிடைக்கிறது. அங்குத் தென்றல் வீசுகிறது. முழுநிலவு குளிர்ச்சியைத் தருகிறது. வீணை ஒலி கேட்கிறது. இத்தனை இனிமைகளும் சிவபெருமானை முழு மனத்தால் நினைப்பதால் கிடைக்கிறது.

The body of Appar was kept and immersed in hot lime stone chamber. But it does not harm his body because he is united in thought with lord Siva. He just feels as if taking a dip in a cool tank and comforted by a gentle breeze. The coolness of the moon-lit night he could feel, soft light music playing into his ears. All these could he experienced only because of his prayer to lord Siva.
